Prior to joining Alma, Phong worked at a global immigration law firm, where he managed a high-volume portfolio of employment-based matters and served as a trusted advisor to HR partners, managers, and foreign national employees. His practice spans nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-3, PERM, EB-1, and NIW filings, with a particular focus on long-term planning and clear, transparent communication. He has also been recognized for his pro bono work on humanitarian parole and asylum matters.

Earlier in his career, Phong served as a Supervising Attorney at a boutique immigration firm, where he advised executives, founders, and researchers on tailored immigration solutions and led teams supporting clients nationwide.
